This oval green tsavorite garnet began its story deep within the East African crust, where intense pressure and heat altered preexisting rocks and concentrated calcium and aluminum rich minerals. Over millions of years, fluids carrying trace chromium and vanadium percolated through fissures during regional metamorphism and metasomatic events, subtly changing the chemical environment and promoting the growth of vibrant grossular crystals. Slow crystallization in sheltered pockets allowed each crystal lattice to develop with high transparency, while subsequent tectonic uplift and erosion exposed select pockets that could later be recovered by careful mining. The result is a gem that records a geological history of time and transformation, exhibiting a vivid green hue that directly reflects the presence of chromium and vanadium and a structural integrity that speaks to the steady cooling and uninterrupted growth the stone experienced.
This particular specimen is a transparent 1.43 carat oval tsavorite, cut to a mixed brilliant style, with dimensions 6.79 x 5.81 x 4.59 mm. Clarity is graded very very slightly included evaluated at eye level, offering clean light performance and minimal internal disruption to brilliance. The color intensity is vivid, and the polish is excellent, allowing crisp facet reflections and a lively play of green across the table and crown. No enhancement has been applied, and the origin is East Africa, consistent with the regional geology that produced the crystal originally. The Natural Gemstone Company sources and certifies such stones for their natural character and documented origin, and this gem is presented with the factual specifications above for appraisal and design consideration. Its proportions and mixed brilliant faceting make it suitable for a precision mounting where transparency and color saturation are priorities, and its untreated nature preserves the natural story recorded within the crystal.
