21.05 Ct. Green Cabochon Jade from Burma (Myanmar)

This green jade began its long journey deep beneath the earths surface millions of years ago, where oceanic crust collided with continental plates and pressures and temperatures rose to transform ordinary minerals into something rare and resilient. Under those intense conditions, sodium and aluminum rich fluids percolated through fractures, and jadeite crystals slowly nucleated and grew in compact, interlocking masses, capturing trace elements that would later define its color. Small amounts of iron and chromium settled into the structure, whispering the medium green tone that you now admire, while tiny mineral inclusions recorded the stones history, visible only as very slight traces to the naked eye. Over geologic epochs, uplift and erosion delivered these rich pockets of jade from their high pressure womb to the rivers and valleys of Burma Myanmar, a land long celebrated for producing some of the worlds finest jadeite.

When our team at The Natural Gemstone Company first received this piece, it was a weathered gem, waiting to reveal its inner translucence. Skilled hands selected a pleasing various shape, and master cutters fashioned it into a smooth cabochon, refining dimensions to 29.33 by 23.35 by 4.51 mm, and preserving its substantial weight of 21.05 carats. The polish achieved an excellent sheen that lets light glide across the surface, while the medium color intensity and its translucent body create a soft glow when held to the light. No enhancement was applied, the clarity is graded very slightly included evaluated at eye level, and the result is a jewel that carries both provenance and honesty.
