From the moment this transparent, lime green peridot first caught the light in the alluvial soils of Ceylon Sri Lanka, its journey has been guided by care and respect for the land, the local communities, and the craft of good gemmery. Mined by experienced hands who know the rhythms of the earth, the rough crystal was gently separated from matrix, sorted by color and clarity, and selected for its uncommon translucence and lively green tone. Carried from the coastal hills to small family run cutting studios, the rough was examined and oriented to reveal the stone s best proportions. The decision to fashion this piece into an emerald cut shape was deliberate, to emphasize the stone s clear depth and to create elegant stepped facets that magnify its lime green character. At 0.53 carat, with dimensions of 5.96 by 4.02 by 2.64 mm, this peridot presents a balanced presence that is both refined and eye catching.
In the hands of master cutters this gem received an expert faceting and an excellent polish, the result of precise angles and patient finishing that allow light to travel cleanly through the gem. The clarity grade, very slightly included evaluated at eye level, retains character while preserving a luminous transparency that modern jewelry design celebrates. With a medium color intensity and no enhancement applied, the peridot remains an honest expression of Sri Lankan earth and sun, a natural jewel unaltered by treatment. As a representative of The Natural Gemstone Company I take pride in presenting this peridot as a finished treasure, ready to be set into a bespoke piece or carried as a solitary token, a reminder of its origin and the people who shaped it. This gem is more than measurements and grades, it is a story of place, craft, and continuity, a small green beacon that connects the wearer to the ancient gem bearing soils of Ceylon Sri Lanka, and to the careful hands that brought it from mine to market.
