From the warm, mineral rich soils of Brazil these two round yellow citrines began their journey as crystalline pockets of quartz, slowly forming colors and clarity over geological time, then being sought and responsibly collected by local hands working with The Natural Gemstone Company. Each rough stone was selected for its inherent transparency and tone, and then gently heat treated to deepen and stabilize the cheerful yellow you see. Skilled cutters accustomed to the language of light translated that natural potential into precision mixed brilliant cuts, respecting the original crystal form while shaping facets to coax the brightest, most even color and the most lively return of light.
The pair weighs 3.00 carats and 2.48 carats respectively, and measures 8.98 by 9.07 by 7.00 mm and 8.83 by 8.90 by 6.18 mm, round shape yellow citrines, mixed brilliant cut, clarity grade very slightly included when evaluated at eye level, medium intense color intensity, and an excellent polish. Those exacting proportions and the mixed brilliant faceting create a compelling interplay between crown and pavilion facets, producing lively scintillation and intense internal flashes. Light enters the crown, is refracted by the pavilion facets, and returns as a warm constellation of honey and sunny flashes, with bright pinpoint scintillation on movement and broader golden flashes on tilt, the result of excellent facet junctions and an expert polish.
As a matched pair they offer balanced color and complementary light performance, ideal for classic stud earrings, elegant drop settings, or a custom design that celebrates their story. The Natural Gemstone Company stands behind the origin and treatment disclosure for these citrines, and we are happy to advise on metal choices and mounting styles that will best showcase the medium intense yellow and the lively brilliance created by the mixed brilliant cut.
