This Madeira reddish orange citrine began its geologic journey millions of years ago within the complex volcanic and hydrothermal systems of the Bolivian highlands. Silica rich fluids circulated through fractures and cavities in host igneous rock, cooling slowly and allowing quartz to crystallize in well defined forms. Trace concentrations of iron incorporated into the quartz lattice, together with prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures and oxidizing conditions, produced the characteristic warm amber to reddish orange tones that define Madeira citrine. Over extended geologic timescales, episodes of reheating and gradual cooling refined the color distribution and clarity, yielding a specimen with depth of tone and internal transparency that is consistent with natural, unenhanced formation.
The gem is a transparent, 8.72 carat cushion shape citrine, with dimensions of 14.60 x 11.01 x 8.53 mm, cut in a mixed brilliant facet pattern and finished to an excellent polish. Color intensity is assessed as intense, exhibiting the rich Madeira hue evenly across the table and crown faceting. Clarity is reported as very very slightly included, evaluated at eye level, which corresponds to minimal visible inclusions and high overall visual clarity. No enhancements have been applied, and the stone is of Bolivian origin. The mixed brilliant cut combines pavilion and crown faceting to optimize light return while preserving weight and shape, and the cushion outline provides a stable geometry for settings that require substantial presence without extreme dimensions. Each facet plane has been executed to enhance both fire and brilliance, and the excellent polish contributes to crisp facet junctions and clean surface reflection. The Natural Gemstone Company presents this citrine as a natural, unenhanced example of Madeira coloration, documented with its full cutting and clarity characteristics, suitable for precision setting and for collectors seeking a naturally heated appearance without artificial treatment.
