The rough was set aside for careful planning, each orientation and potential yield mapped by hand, because a gemstone like this demands respect and intention. The journey continued from the mine to the lapidary bench, where the rough was painstakingly cleaved, shaped and refined, until the 2.30 carat cushion form measured exactly 7.95 x 6.51 x 3.94 mm, a compact geometry that promised deep color and lively play of light.

At the heart of this piece is the stone cutting, an exacting choreography of angles and polished planes, a process that turns crystalline potential into optical brilliance.
