Born in the ancient mineral veins of Ceylon Sri Lanka, this 0.45 carat pear shape white moonstone carries the slow story of earth and tide, of heat and pressure, of crystalline layers settling over millennia. Extracted from small scale mines where careful hands separate hope from host rock, the rough was chosen for its transparency and subtle near colorless hue. Our lapidaries at The Natural Gemstone Company then coaxed a mixed brilliant cut into a graceful pear outline, sized at 6.03 by 4.14 by 3.59 mm, polishing each facet to an excellent finish. No enhancement was applied, so what you see is the pure dialogue between nature and craft, a clean surface that invites the eye to travel inward, across internal landscapes that tell of origin and time. Evaluated at eye level, the clarity grade reads slightly included, a modest honesty that does not hide but rather enhances the gem with personality and provenance.
It is those inclusions that become the moonstone signature, a private topography of tiny platelets and wispy mineral veils that refract light into a soft internal glow. Rather than detracting, these natural inclusions scatter light in ways that create a delicate adularescence, a floating lunar shimmer that shifts as the gem moves. You will notice thin laminar structures aligned within the feldspar crystal, subtle interruptions in clarity that catch the light and throw back a satin sheen, and the occasional pinpoint or hairline trace that resembles a constellation trapped beneath the surface. The mixed brilliant cut was selected to work with these features, the pavilion facets channeling internal flashes while the crown facets preserve the gem s transparency, resulting in a luminous, lively face up appearance. This moonstone s slightly included clarity, near colorless intensity, and excellent polish combine with its natural inclusions to make it unmistakable, an intimate signature that links the wearer to the mines of Ceylon and to the hands that shaped it. For those who value a gemstone with a visible life story, this pear shape moonstone is an invitation to own a small piece of landscape, history, and craft.
