This 1.28 carat oval white moonstone from Ceylon presents a textbook example of cabochon cutting optimized for adularescence, with dimensions of 7.13 x 6.28 x 4.11 mm. The cutter selected an even domed profile, preserving material thickness to enhance the internal interference of light between micro layers of orthoclase and albite, which produces the characteristic soft, floating sheen.
