From the first glimpse of light in the hills of Ceylon these two rhodolite garnets began their long journey, deep beneath layers of ancient rock where heat and pressure coaxed color from mineral chemistry. In Sri Lanka the earth yields stones that have been prized across cultures for centuries, and these purplish pink rhodolites are direct heirs to that legacy. Formed where manganese and iron blended into a crystalline lattice, they captured a hue that is at once floral and dusk like the moment when a tropical sun slips behind a palm. Local miners, working in small groups along old gem gravels and weathered deposits, set aside rough crystals that showed the promise of transparency and saturated tone. Cut in a mixed brilliant style, each pavilion and crown facet was planned to maximize fire and face up color so that the purplish pink tone reads with intense saturation across each table.
