This paired set consists of two transparent pear shape rubellite tourmalines weighing 1.84 carats and 1.91 carats respectively, presenting a consistent reddish pink hue with intense color intensity. Each stone measures precisely 10.25 x 6.60 x 4.43 mm and 10.24 x 6.59 x 4.51 mm, and both stones are executed in a mixed brilliant cut to balance scintillation and face up color. Clarity is graded very very slightly included as evaluated at eye level, and the stones display an excellent polish that enhances light return and surface luster. The material has been heat treated as an enhancement, and the provenance of the pair is Brazil, an origin noted for producing richly colored tourmaline material. These rubellites are transparent across the body of the stones, and their matched dimensions and weight range make them well suited for paired applications where visual symmetry is a primary requirement.
The selection and cutting process focused on matching color, weight, and facet proportions to achieve a harmonious pair. Individual rough pieces were evaluated for color saturation and internal character, and orientation was chosen to maximize the desirable reddish pink tone while minimizing the appearance of inclusions under normal viewing. During cutting, crown angles and pavilion depth were adjusted within narrow tolerances to preserve mixed brilliant faceting geometry, and attention was paid to table size and facet alignment to promote equivalent light performance between the two stones. Final polishing was carried out to an exacting standard to secure the excellent polish noted in the grading, and the pair was inspected and measured to confirm dimensional parity to the hundredth of a millimeter. At The Natural Gemstone Company we document these attributes to provide a clear technical description for gem setters and designers, and to ensure that the pair performs predictably when mounted in matched earrings or bespoke paired settings.
