From the moment this green tsavorite garnet was freed from the Tanzanian earth, its journey has been one of deliberate care and respect for nature, handled by small teams who know the stone and the land, and then entrusted to the cutters and gemologists of The Natural Gemstone Company. We present a transparent 2.32 carat gem, with dimensions 7.19 by 6.57 by 5.27 mm, shaped into an asscher octagon that honors the mineral's natural geometry. Its vivid color intensity immediately speaks to the uncompromised character of the rough, its interior showing very slightly included clarity when evaluated at eye level, and its surface bearing an excellent polish. No enhancement has been applied, so every facet and every shade of green you see is the unaltered expression of the garnet we mined in Tanzania and the skill that followed.
The asscher cut chosen for this tsavorite is a study in how geometry can magnify nature, converting the stone's inherent refractive strength into visual poetry. The step facets form a series of concentric rectangles that create a hall of mirrors effect, pulling light deep into the gem and returning it as broad flashes of emerald brilliance rather than scattered pinpoints. This controlled reflection emphasizes the vivid hue and the gem's internal clarity, allowing subtle inclusions to remain part of the stone's story without distracting from its overall radiance. The octagon outline with cropped corners softens the symmetry and adds a modern elegance, while the precise pavilion and crown proportions maximize internal reflection and minimize light leakage. With its excellent polish, each facet edge becomes a crisp reflector, and the unenhanced nature of the gem means its color and luster are unmasked and authentic. This garnet arrives as both a testament to Tanzanian terroir and to the artisanal cutting traditions we practice, ready to be set into a design that celebrates its origin, its journey, and the refined light play achieved through the asscher cut.
