From the misted gem terraces of Ceylon, now Sri Lanka, these pear shaped pink topaz earrings begin their story as rare pockets of crystal threaded through ancient rock, nurtured by time and tropical rains. Each topaz, totaling 7.53 carats, was selected for its transparent clarity and lively medium color saturation, then carefully faceted into a mixed brilliant cut to maximize internal fire. At 12.00 by 8.03 by 6.11 millimeters, the pear shapes are substantial enough to announce their presence, yet refined by an excellent polish and a clarity that reads very slightly included when evaluated at eye level. Our cutters at The Natural Gemstone Company honored the stone by retaining its natural character while coaxing out a starburst of light from the center of each gem. The design pairs each pink topaz with a white round natural diamond, a delicate accent totalling approximately 0.34 carats with clarity grades VS1 and VS2 and a color grade of F. The warm glow of 14 karat yellow gold unifies the pair, the metal chosen to echo the island sun that helped form the stones, and to cradle them in a classic setting that is comfortable for daily wear and elegant for evening occasions.
Compared to classic studs or simple solitaire drops, these earrings stand apart in three ways, color, cut and provenance. Where a classic piece often relies on symmetry and understatement, these earrings celebrate a living hue brought from Ceylon, a pink that shifts with movement and light, made more compelling by the mixed brilliant cut which generates a scintillation unlike the flat flash of a standard cut. The size and precision dimensions give them presence without heft, while the very slightly included clarity maintains a natural soul not found in overly processed gems. The F color diamonds offer a bright, icy counterpoint that lifts the pinks, and the 14 karat yellow gold setting gives the composition warmth and longevity. At The Natural Gemstone Company we weave the narrative of origin into every step from mine to mounting, ensuring that each pair is not only an accessory, but a story you wear. These earrings are for those who appreciate classic craftsmanship yet seek a distinctive voice, a piece that feels familiar and timeless, and at the same time commands attention through color, light and a provenance that speaks of distant hills and careful hands.
