From the moment this purplish grey spinel was born deep in the soils of Burma Myanmar its journey began as a tale of earth and time, compressed and crystallized into a rare and transparent 1.01 carat cushion shape gem. Our miners and partners, aligned with the values of The Natural Gemstone Company, carefully recovered the rough material from its hidden pocket, where light and mineral met to create that unique intense color saturation. The stone was shaped to a mixed brilliant cut to reveal a lively interplay of facets, measuring 6.68 x 5.81 x 3.27 mm, and evaluated with a clarity grade described as very slightly included at eye level. Each facet received an excellent polish that allows the purplish grey tones to shift subtly from lavender to steel depending on the light, a quiet metamorphosis that speaks to the spinel family and to the land from which it came.
The final ring design is a conversation between organic growth and restrained architecture, a setting that lifts the spinel like a bud poised to open, while architectural lines in the band create a modern arch that cradles the gem with secure elegance. Cast entirely in silver, the band is polished to a mirror finish that complements the cool undertones of the gem, and the prong structure is engineered to show the stone to its best advantage, allowing light to pass freely through the mixed brilliant cut. Our craftsmen at The Natural Gemstone Company hand set and finished this piece, following a tradition of careful workmanship that honors both the mine and the maker. The result is a ring that feels at once elemental and refined, a wearable story that ties the ancient geology of Burma Myanmar to contemporary design, a piece for someone who appreciates subtle color intensity, impeccable polish, and the quiet presence of a gem with history.
